3. League Commissioner
The commissioner of WWE is Vince McMahon who is
the majority owner of the company and is currently
serving as both the chairman and (CEO) of the
company.
4. Company History
Vince McMahon along with his wife Linda McMahon
founded the company under the name Titan Sports
in the year of 1980
The company was renamed WWF in 1998. After
four years in 2002, the company change its name to
what is now known as WWE. The reason is because
they wanted to focus on providing entertainment.
5. Brand Extension
After changing its name in 2002, WWE decided to
create two separate rosters, Raw and SmackDown.
The reason is because they wanted to separate the
younger talents and would do so by creating a
draft lottery every year.
They also Came out with ECW as a WWE brand in
2006. The new ECW program aired until February
of 2010.
6. WWE NXT
On August 2012, WWE founded NXT Wrestling.
WWE NXT is the professional wrestling
developmental branch for WWE, based in Winter
Park Florida.
NXT is a program that train rookies who want to
become part of the WWE’s main roster.
NXT cannot be seen on television. NXT can only be
seen via the WWE network.

WWE is separated into two divisions which include
the male and the Divas or female division.
The male division has 50 superstars along with 14 in
the divas division working for the company. As of

9. WWE ( Pay per Views)
WWE has a number of Pay per View events including survivor series,
Royal Rumble, SummerSlam, Unforgiven, etc. Wrestlemania is their
biggest of their Pay Per Views. Wrestlemania is a yearly event which is
treated like Superbowl of professional Wrestling.
The road to Wrestlemania starts at the Royal Rumble. The 30 man over
the top battle royal is the biggest event where one superstar tries to be
the last man standing. The last man standing eventually gets a shot at a
championship at Wrestlemania.
Since Wrestlemania is the biggest event, all championships are usually
defended.
The superstar’s performance in either Raw or SmackDown determines
whether he/she is worthy of competing for a title shot at feature pay
per views.
10. Season
WWE is a all year type of sport with SmackDown
and Raw being played on different days of the
week. For example, they have SmackDown on TV
every Thursday and Raw on Mondays.
As of 2014, WWE is the largest wrestling
promotion in the world, holding approximately 320
televised and non-televised events a year, and
broadcasting to about 36 million viewers in more
than 150 countries.
11. WWE Network
On February 24, 2014, WWE launched a 24/7
streaming network. The network includes past and
present WWE shows, pay per views, and shows
from the WWE library.
The membership is $9.99/month to get the network.
12. Wellness Program
WWE created a Wellness Program which started
back when the company was under the name WWF
to protect its wrestlers.
The wellness program includes a drug testing policy
in order to detect those who are using illegal drugs
such as steroids.
The Wellness Program also serves as way for
wrestlers to check themselves for any illness that
may be fatal.

As in other professional wrestling promotions, WWE
shows are legitimate sporting contests, but purely
entertainment based, featuring storyline-driven and
scripted events.
The McMahon family holds approximately 70% of
WWE’s equity and 96% of the voting power in the

16. Company History
CAA was founded in Beverly Hills, California in 1975
by five talented agents Mike Rosenfeld, Michael Ovitz,
Ron Meyer, William Haber, and Rowland Perkins.
Before they founded agency, the five agents were
previously employed by William Morris Agency. While
working there, the five agents met together to create
CAA because they had same ideas and goals.
By early 1975, Creative Arts Agency was in business,
with a $35,000 of line of credit and a $21,000 bank
loan.
17. Expansion
Soon after CAA was founded, the company began to
expand. With its stable full of actors and about $90
million in annual bookings in the late 1980s, the agency,
led by Ovitz, decided to get into movies.
By the mid 1990s, CAA had 550 employees, about
1,400 of Hollywood’s top talent, and $150 million in
revenue.
During their expansion, the company divided its agents
into two parts, traditional and specialists agents.
In 1995, two of the company’s founders, Ron Meyer and
Michael Ovitz left CAA to join MCA and Disney
Respectively.
18. New Management
After the founders had left in 1995, the company went
into a different direction. The company’s current
president and CEO is Richard Lovett. Being the new
president was not easy because Richard Lovett had to
find a way to keep the 100 plus-agents remain
committed to the new CAA; re-sign longtime clients
whose primary relationship was with Ovitz and Meyer;
and also find a way to sign new clients.
Despite the departure of the founders, CAA continued
to be successful. In 1996 CAA’s managing partners
founded the CAA foundation. In 1998, CAA established
CAA marketing , which serves CAA brands.
19. Transition to Sports
In 2006, CAA began its expansion into sports. By that
time, CAA had already become a superpower in the
area of film, television, and music.
