3. 1. Plucking
• Only young tender
shoots are hand plucked
when they are ready
• Tea bushes are plucked
every 6-8 days based on
the season.
• Plucking begings in the
month of March and
• More than 20,000
individually hand plucked
shoots are used to make
1 KG of fine tea.

4. 2. Withering
• After plucking, the plucked leaves are delivered to the
factory for measure the weight & send to the withering
process.
• Main aim of withering is to reduce moisture content of leaf
and soften it.
• Tea leaves are then spread out on a wide tray of wire
mesh, hot air blowers are used to drive out moisture.

5. 3. Rolling
• Mechanical action are used on
withered leaves and loaded into
rollers where for twisting.
• This process is carefully monitored
such that style of leaf is
maintained and overheating must
not take place.
• Green color of the leaf is replaced
by brown coppery colored texture
in process of rolling.
• Premium quality green and white
teas are generally manually
selected and hand rolled.

6. 4. Fermentation
• Fermentation is the process during which the
Polyphenols in leaf are oxidized in presence of
the enzymes
• Fermentation starts just after cell rupture.

goes for processing of packaging
