About the Centre
 Social science part of NTNU’s strategic area Energy
and Petroleum – Resources and Environment,
established 2001
 Main research focus: Sustainable energy and
climate, to produce knowledge for transitions
towards a post carbon society
 Interdisciplinary, with Science and Technology
Studies as the main pillar
 Seven professors, three research scientists, three
post docs, and 17 doctoral students participate in
the Centre
 Also engaged in a broader, national initiative –
Centre for Sustainable Energy Studies (CenSES)
