This document is an excerpt from "La Marseillaise", the French national anthem. It calls French citizens to arms against tyranny and foreign invaders threatening to subjugate France once more. It urges the French people to take up arms and march into battle, letting their enemies' blood water the fields, so that France may remain free.

Of traitors and conspiratorial kings?
For whom these vile chains

What methods must be taken?
It is us they dare plan
To return to the old slavery!
