      • When a child signs up for a Gold card, give them a Windows Live ID, for e.g. [email_address] (Windows Live Custom Domains)
      Link up the Newham Gold Card Scheme with Windows Live
    7. Engaging Newham’s Youth Online [email_address] With Windows Live Custom Domains, you can provide citizens with email and other communication tools

      • Children can then use their Windows Live ID (printed on their Gold Card) to access email, spaces, messenger from PCs in Leisure centres or at home
    9. Engaging Newham’s Youth Online Keep in touch with them using the UK’s largest email and instant messaging services that they know and love!
    10. With their Gold Card / WL ID kids can use Windows Live Spaces to share their progress and passion for sports, for example on the Leyton Orient Football Programme Windows Live Spaces is a great way for children in the community to share their interests

    13. Engaging with local residents Windows Live offers many great ways to keep local residents informed of Newham’s progress to 2012, and provide them with news, information and local services
    14. Engaging with local residents Using Windows Live Local, create mashups to show locations and progress of Olympic venues, or provide services like ‘planning your running route’ in Newham
    15. Alerts (Notification Service)
      • Alerts is an opt-in, spam free notification service
      • Alerts deliver information to users, based on the their presence and with IM, mobile, and e-mail as end-points
      • Why use the Alerts notification service?
        • Presence based
        • Multiple-end points (IM, mobile, e-mail)
        • Easy integration with RSS
        • It’s spam free
        • User controls the deliver settings, so they get the information they want when/where they want to receive it
        • Alerts are up to 10x more effective than simple email (with CTR’s up to 30% depending on the scenario)
        • An alert directs the user to any specified URL

They can also use Windows Live Mail, Messenger, Spaces and Search on their mobile phone. Citizens can access their local government services powered by Windows Live on their mobile
