2. The theory of a 6 day creation has been around
approximately 2,000 years.
The creation account can be found in the first
two chapters of Genesis in the Bible.
3. Russian Chemist A.I. Oparin and English Geneticist
J.B.S. Haldane both came up with the theory on their
own in 1920.
In 1950, Stanley Miller, a chemist, and Harold Urey, a
physicist, did a well-known experiment to test the
theory.
4. The creation account found in the Bible states that the
earth was “formless and empty, darkness was over the
surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering
over the waters.”
On the first day, God created light and darkness. He
separated the light from the dark and created night
and day.
5. On the second day, God separated the waters with a
vault. He called the vault “sky.”
On the third day, God made the water under the sky
gather to make dry ground. The dry ground He
called “land” and the gathered waters “seas.”God
also made plants grow on the land.
6. On the fourth day, God created the sun, moon, and
stars to make the day lighter, and the night dimmer.
God also separated day from night. He did this to mark
the seasons, days, and years.
On the fifth day God created every living creature of
the water and every creature of the air. He blessed
them to multiply and fill the earth with life.
7. On day six, God created animals to fill the earth. He
also created the first man, Adam, and woman, Eve, in
His own image. He blessed Adam and Eve and told
them to increase in number and to rule over all living
creatures.
On the seventh day, God saw all that He created was
good and He rested. He blessed that seventh day and
made it holy.
8. The Primordial Soup theory states that the beginning
earth had no oxygen, but methane, hydrogen, water
vapor, and ammonia.
When these chemicals are mixed, they contain
elements carbon and nitrogen, which can make amino
acids if they are arranged right.
9. Alexandr Oparin and John Haldane both said that life
began in oceans. They believed when the gases were
mixed with energy from lightning strikes, amino acids
could be formed.
In 1953, the theory was tested by Stanley Miller and
Harold Urey. They combined the gases and stimulated
an ocean.
10. The men used electric shocks to make amino acids and
other organic compounds.
Almost fifteen percent of the carbon in the handmade
ocean turned into organic building blocks in a week.
This seemed to prove that life on earth could have
spontaneously happened from nonorganic
ingredients.
11. After looking researching both theories, I believe that
the Creation theory gives a better explanation of how
life on earth began.
I believe this since the experiments made in the
Primordial Soup theory had some major glitches. For
instance, the experiment required constant lightning
strikes, which was not very common on early earth.
12. Also further research has been done on early earth,
and it was discovered that there was not as much
methane as previously thought. Methane was a great
source of carbon, so this would greatly reduce the
number of organic molecules even more.
13.
The galaxies move so quickly that they would not be in
their original clusters if the earth was millions of years
old.
Also since 1846, scientists have studied the shrinkage
of the sun’s diameter. It shrinks about 5 feet per hour.
At this rate, 50,000 years ago the sun would have been
so big, it would vaporize the oceans making life on
earth impossible. 100,000 years ago the sun would have
been twice as large
14. So in conclusion, there were many things wrong with the
Primordial Soup theory. We saw this by looking at the
flaws of the experiments and looked at two truths that
proof the theory to be very questionable in it’s
reliability and reality.
Many people are unwilling to even consider God
making the earth in six literal days, it takes faith in
God to know He created everything, and trust in the
Bible that the Creation story was written correctly.
