catastrophic accidents, fires

Disaster Management refers
to the steps undertaken in the
period of pre-disaster, disaster
and post disaster. To cope
better with disasters and the
havoc they cause in the lives
of those affected the study of
disaster management was
started. It studies how its
impact can be lessened. It
tries to prepare people to deal
with disasters and its
aftermath. It also tries to
monitor, predict and prevent
the occurrence of disaster
4. Types Of Disasters :
1)Natural Disasters: A natural disaster is the effect of a natural
hazard (e.g., flood, tornado, hurricane, volcanic eruption, earthquake,
or landslide). It leads to financial, environmental or human losses.
2)Man-made Disasters: Man-made disasters are disasters resulting
from man-made hazards (threats having an element of human intent,
negligence, or error; or involving a failure of a man-made system)
