The Sole Elliptical Range of Elliptical trainers has developed a reputation for providing a top
quality training experience to the home, at a price that is more usually associated with industry
sized equipment. They are regularly rated Best Buy by a variety of fitness and health magazines.
The complete range was redesigned in 2011 to increase the effectiveness of the training
experience, as well as making it more pleasurable for the user.
Extensive Range of Models and Pricing
There is a decent selection of machines in the Sole Elliptical 2011 range, starting with the E25
Sole Elliptical which turns out to be a great entry level model, which compares well with similarly
priced machines. It only looks a little weak when compared to the higher level machines in the
Sole Elliptical range. Conversely, the best machine in the range, the E95 Sole Elliptical, just looks
and acts like a monster. Packed with features, it would fit in comfortably at any fitness club and
makes the exercise regime effective and less tedious for the user.
It goes without saying that the price of the E25 and the E95 varies greatly. There is a large
variance in the quality of the machine, so why not the price?
In fact, based on RRPs, the price of the larger machine, E95, is close to a one thousand dollar
(US) higher than the smallest E25. However, manufacturers Sole Fitness have been aggressive
with their pricing policies, and there nearly always seems to be some type of discount or promotion
that makes the range even more attractive. Be sure to keep a look out for their latest offers, which
they usually co-ordinate quite successfully with all their offline and online outlets.
Features of the Sole Elliptical Range
It is always the case where people try and explain the differences between the various models in a
range, and I could do that here, but I won't. Instead I'd like to take the chance to highlight the
quality of the whole Sole Elliptical range by highlighting the items they have in common.
Each machine has a 20 inch stride - this is unusual as cheaper machines usually have shorter
strides making them less functional and comfortable when exercising.
Sole Fitness has introduced adjustable pedals on each of its models to try and improve user
comfort, and therefore improve the exercise process.
Similarly, to increase user comfort, each machine has a built in music station, the better models
have better sound, and each comes with a water bottle and holder.
The Sole Elliptical range uses eddy current braking resistance in conjunction with a front flywheel
2. (heavier for larger machines) to optimize performance of the trainer.
The Sole Fitness warranty is exceptionally generous, and each machine is backed by this. With
lifetime warranty on the frame, and 5 and 3 years (3 and 1 on E25) on labor and parts, this is very
attractive.
Which Sole Elliptical Trainer to Pick?
Well, this is the question as each machine represents good value for money with a commensurate
increase in quality and features for each larger, pricier machine. Given that I believe the Sole
Elliptical range represent exceptional value, the choice then is which Sole machine.
It may be obvious but the first thing to figure out is how much can you afford. Where money is no
object then there is no decision to be made if you are buying a Sole Elliptical, it is the E95 every
time. However, most of us are budgeting, and so have to do some type of price/reward analysis.
There are four models in total, the E25, the E35, the E55, and the E95.
The E25 is the entry level model and is missing quite a few of the features of the larger machines,
and has less sophisticated program options. However, it does compare very favourably with other
brands at a similar price.
The E35 and the E55 are the two mid-range machines and I deliberately bring the two together as
both machines, especially the 2011 models are very similar. If considering these machines, try and
stretch to the E55 as it has a better LCD screen, has a heavier flywheel, and has a few more
extras. For the (relatively) small additional price, it should be worth it in the longer run.
The E95 is one of the top home models out in the market, and is distinguished by the low price in
comparison to similar brands and models. If you can afford it, this is the one to go for.
The decision is yours.
