  • 2. About Jean Piaget
    Jean was born 9th of august, 1896
    He died the 16th of September 1980
    Known for genetic epistemology theory of cognitive development.
  • 3. Process of Intellectual Development
    He believed that there were 4 major stages in an individuals development. Where there was a major change in the persons ability to know and perceive things. This is called cognitive development.
  • 4. Sensorimotor period
    Age: birth to 18 months.
    A person starts to move from reflex to reflective behaviour.
  • 5. Preoperational Period
    Age: 18 months – 7 years.
    A person develops language and number skills.
  • 6. Concrete Operations Period
    Age: 12-15 years.
    A person develops the ability to speculate and think in abstract term.
