Along with the fast growth of economics, chilled water system is widely
used. In the past, the consumer was simple paid by area shared, whether
they used it or not, they must pay the same air conditioning fee, so it would
cause a lot of disputes between owner and user.
To a certain extent this method wasted enormous energy. So, how to
charge the energy consumption billing for chilled water system became a
big problem for the building owner.
AKE developed the first generation of BTU measurement system in 1998
which provide an scientific and reasonable charging basis and solved this
problem excellently. It leads people to establish correct consumed habit to
save energy consciously and have yielded remarkable social and
economic benefits.

◆Energy-based metering
Principle: Calculates the flow rate and temperature of supply and return
water, based on heat transmission formula to calculate the
energy consumption;
◆Time-based metering
Principle: Calculates the efficient running time of high/middle/low speed,
changes the total running time into an equivalent time,
treats total equivalent time as user’s running time,
finally as per rated unit price ($/hrs) to calculate the total fee.

◆Energy-based Metering
Principle and working process
The BTU meter real-time monitors the temperature of water return & supply by
temperature sensor PT1000, monitors the flow rate by flowmeter. According to
Heat Transmission formula to integrate the cooling or heating consumption.
Finally as per rated unit price (Dollars/MW) to calculate the total
energy consumption of each users.

Brief description:
C03P BTU meter is the key device in this system, it collects the data from
temperature sensor and flowmeter, basing on Heat Transmission principle the
system automatically integrates energy consumption and transfers it to PC.
Could be checked consumption volume by user or operator, real time shows
temperature, flow rate and energy
consumption. etc., meanwhile it has the
ability to show history data with bar chart.

 Large LCD screen, total 4 rows display in each page;
 Accuracy class: Class 2, Environment class: Class A
 Shows historic data with bar chart by every day/month/year;
 Multi-password prevents data missing or being revising;
 Current input (4-20mA) and pulse input(0-200Hz) are compatible;
 Modbus protocol based on RS485 communication;
 Adopts photo-coupler , good anti-interference performance;
 Programmable minimal flow can be ignored;
 Secures storage, stores data automatically once power is cut off;
 Remote alarm and clock function, remotely revises clock periodically;
 Data output interface, can be integrated into Auto Meter Reading system;

Ducted type turbine flow meter
Including horizontal and vertical rotator. Need horizontal flange installation, Not the best
suit for HVAC chilled liquid usage, because of the not pure water environment, easily be
block by the incrustant, need a lot of maintenance jobs because it adopts the rotator
(mechanical movement parts), and greatly affect the flow testing results once the rotator is
blocked.

Including strong magnetic, weak magnetic, and non magnetic types. Also not a best suit for HVAC liquids
because of its not very pure water environment, easily incrustant and be easily blocked, wind-up, adsorption etc,
the testing accuracy will be greatly affected after not a very long time usage.

Principle: Installs a Data Collector to
connect FCU and Motorized valve,
calculates efficient run-time of FCU at
different gear position (H/M/L speed) and
changes it into an equivalent time, treats
total equivalent time as user’s running time,
finally as per rated unit price ($/hrs) to
calculate the total fee.

It is a data acquisition device which performs real-
time to detect motorized valve and FCU status,
calculates the running time of different fan speed.
When the motorized valve is opened basic on air
condition is cooling or heating and FCU is operated,
C02B starts to calculate the running time of each
gear positions.
 Besides, it has a control function -- close valve.

the thermostat and BTU measurement function.
Under certain condition (efficient running), C02T
stores heating and cooling running time basic on
different gear positions (H/M/L speed) and
accumulates them automatically, shows the data
via display.

With the thermostat and metering function;
Cooling/Heating/Ventilation mode selectable, adjusts the fan speed at
High/Middle/Low automatically, temperature correction;
Remote control ON/OFF;
Far keyboard locked, prevents temperature and fan speed optionally adjust;
Realizes pre-paid function, 24hrs advanced remind if haven’t enough
balance in account, stopped service automatically;
Memory setting function;
Failure warning function.
Infrared ray remote control (available/optional).

In the past, the consumer was simple paid by area shared, whether they used it or not, they must pay the same air conditioning fee, so it would cause a lot of disputes between owner and user. To a certain extent this method wasted enormous energy. So, how to charge the energy consumption billing for chilled water system became a big problem for the building owner. AKE developed the first generation of BTU measurement system in 1998 which provide an scientific and reasonable charging basis and solved this problem excellently. When the motorized valve is opened basic on air condition is cooling or heating and FCU is operated, C02B starts to calculate the running time of each gear positions.  Besides, it has a control function -- close valve.
