2. Zulu nouns can be made plural by changing their
prefix.
Examples:
“ikati” (cat) is made plural by removing the prefix “i”
and adding the prefix “ama”. It therefore becomes
“amakati” (cats)
imoto (car) becomes plural by taking out “i” and
adding “izi”: izimoto (cars)
umfana (boy) becomes plural by taking out “um” and
adding “aba”: abafana (boys)
