  • Denotation: The explicit or actualmeaning. Connotation: The implicit or associated meaning.Iconography: Things that arecharacteristic & symbolic to aparticular representation. Omnipotent: When the audience knows more than the character.Hegemony: ways in which the mediaencourage people to consent tostatus power structures. Verisimilitude: creating a sense of reality, the quality of appearing to be true or real.
