XdbE - Global Social Graphing - Presentation Transcript

    1. Let Public Data Remain Public! XdbE Authors: Nickolay Zhoukov, Sergey Antonyuk
    2. Web 2.0
      • concepts have led to the development and evolution of web-based communities and its hosted services, such as social-networking sites, video sharing sites, wikis, blogs, and folksonomies
      • © wikipedia.org
    3. Web 2.0
      • services are loosely coupled with each other
      • NO integration
      • NO interaction
      • You can register at all of these services
      • BUT
      • it does NOT matter
      • you will always miss something important
      • because
      • new post, new photo or new relationship of your friend are not visible from outside the service where it was made
    4. NOW
      • Only single individual Web 2.0 services are occasionally connected
      • BECAUSE
    5. NOW
      • a universal solution that could propagate user data between all services and connect them to each other
      • DOES NOT YET EXIST
    6. Google Open Social API
      • provides the standard for data exchange between services
      • BUT
    7. Google Open Social API
      • User data is not stored locally.
      • Every service must request every other service for every user every time.
      • It is resource-consuming, inefficient and slow. Not suitable for real time applications.
      • It does not provide complete Universal Social Graph but only unrelated segments.
    8. XdbE
      • provides a unified single user data database as an exchange point between all user oriented services to get all services interconnected and linked to each other in real time
    9. XdbE Database
      • It is a data base with user home service, user aliases between services, user friends and user basic information AGL (Age, Gender, Location)
      • It contains no private or personally identifiable user data
    10. XdbE Instant U pdates
      • always contains actual and up-to-date user data because on every user data change it is updated in real time by the request from the corresponding service
      • it also retrieves user data by requesting services when additional data is needed
    11. XdbE
      • allows you to use services you like and always be in touch with everything that goes around!
