Individual school technology report


   1. Ask the teachers/principal their perspective on current and future use of technology
      in the classroom:Technology is necessary in society so children should learn how to use
      it at a young age. However it is hard for teachers stay caught up with all the new
      technology.


   2. Does the school have its own website? If so who maintains the site what is the URL?
      Yes. http://www.graniteschools.org/el/granger/


   3. Do teachers at the school have class blogs? If so who has access to them?
      Each teacher has their own website on the school website and anyone can access. The
      teacher does not have a class blog and she does not use her website.


   4. Do all the classrooms have computers in them? No.
      Explain what you find:There are three computers in the teacher’s classroom but they are
      not used often.


   5. Is there a computer lab/s? If so how is it used and by whom?
      Yes, the teacher’s class goes there once a while.


   6. What kinds of computers are in the school – PC’s, Laptops, Mac’s etc.? Overhead
      projection equipment etc.:Desk Tops, projector, visual presenter, iPads, and iPhones.


   7. What software programs are regularly used by teachers?
      Learning activities (alphabet, numbers, words, songs, etc) are used in the kindergarten
      classroom.


   8. Can/do teachers use the Internet in their instruction? Yes.
      Detail findings.The teacher uses the internet on the iPad when she provides some
      learning games to her students during the circle time.
9. How does a teacher get further training to use technology?
   The teacher has attended technology meetings in order to understand how to use all the
   technology and software programs that she uses in the classroom.


10. Did you observe students using computer based technology? Yes If so detail what
   you observed:Children enjoyed the technology class because it made learning words,
   numbers, songs, and the alphabet through playing games lots of fun. When each student
   used an iPhone, they were excited to choose their own learning activity and enjoyed
   working on it on their own.


11. Other: Today, mostpeople have computer access in their homes and children are familiar
   with technology. It is important for them to start to use technology at a young age in
   order for them to live in the society. Through this observation, I also believe that
   technology is a good start for children to enjoy learning. This is because there are many
   learning activities available and they are able to learn through play.
