public database within five business days of eligibility determination.
Percentage of cases in which staff reviews or refers comments and claims from
manufacturers, importers, and private labelers within one business day
Percentage of business registration requests for www.SaferProducts.gov processed
within two business days

13. EXHR’s Mission Challenges in 2014
 Challenge 1: Identifying Emerging Hazards and
Protecting the Public
 Reporting Systems – improve analysis from hazard-reporting systems
to identify emerging hazards better.
 Talent – recruiting professional staff to achieve the mission.
 Challenge 2: Prudent and Timely Implementation of
Congressional Requirements
 CPSIA – requires numerous new regulations for years to come.
 Public Law 112-28 – establishes additional mandates and requirements
for CPSC.
 Challenge 3: Effective Engagement in Voluntary
Standards
 Prioritization – improve effectiveness of most important voluntary
