Slovenia
• the expression 'living' cultural heritage was
used in the Cultural Heritage Protection Act
(UL RS, no. 16/2008 dated 15.2.2008) from
2008 till 2016
• From 2016: intangible cultural heritage

• The Shrovetide custom in Ponikve;
• Dialects along the River Čabranka and the upper Kolpa;

4. Steps from national Register to Unesco
• Step one: entry of elements to a national
register of intangible cultural heritage

intangible cultural heritage of local or
national importance (until 2016 ‘living
masterpieces’)
• Step three: nomination to the UNESCO
