WHY I DO WHAT I WANT TO DO
Hook
My name is to be known across the world.
I was destined for greatness since birth. I am Tiffany Jackson.
Root
You need me on your team.
I was taught at a very young age that in order to get what you want, you have to work hard for it.
I spent my entire childhood striving for “perfection.” There was such thing as “perfect” to me.
I got satisfaction from making my parents proud, just as my big brother did.
My brother was also a talented artist. He taught me how to draw in grade school. By middle school, I was painting.
My mother can draw as well. She was excellent in fashion design. She used to make my brother, sister, and my clothes.
Artistic skill runs in my family. I live and breathe art. It’s in my genes.
Brand Mantra.
A visual deity (an art goddess, if you will.)
HOW HAVE I GONE ABOUT DEVELOPING MYSELF?
Skills/Qualities
Created a Graphic Design side business in the 10th grade.
A friend loaned me a Photoshop 6 CD and I began playing around in the program.
Attended Bloomfield College, majoring in Graphic Design in Fall of 2008.
Since then, I have improved my skills in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Dreamweaver.
I got myself into another school, despite my debt and struggles.
I excelled academically, something I was familiar with. I felt like I belonged.
I majored in Business Management and Entrepreneurship, learning the basics of starting a business.
I’d planned to be my own boss, running things since I was young.
I later discovered Full Sail University, which I am now attending online.
Majoring in Graphic Design at Full Sail, I plan to dive into web design.
PART THREE: WHAT DO I DO AS A PROFESSIONAL?
Work Experience
Swatch Group USA: Visual Merchandising Manager (2013 to current)
Banana Republic/GAP Incorporated: Store Associate (2012 to 2013)
Express, LLC.: Sales Associate (2010 to 2012)
Brick Bandits Entertainment & Management Group: Executive Graphic Artist (2008 to 2011)
AIDS Walk New York: Volunteer/Walker (annual)
Also created t-shirt design and banner for ‘Team Brick Bandits’ in 2009. Banner used every year.
All jobs have subjected me to fast-paced working environment and given me outstanding customer service skills.
I work for the largest watch company in the world. Along with selling, I educate people on the product and teach them hands-on how to use them.
Currently working in an airport location, I see/meet/speak to hundreds of different types of people every single day.
I work best in hands-on, fast-paced environments. I think well on my feet.
Relevant work samples: logo designs
Relevant work samples: AIDS Walk NY items that I designed. Consists of (2) shirt designs and a banner.
Currently, Apple is the second most valuable company in the world (after Google.)
I’ve wanted nothing more since I was sixteen to work for Apple as an software designer.
I have pure drive and talent that I can offer Apple. It would benefit not only them, but myself as well, as far as personal growth is involved.
