This document discusses the main nutrients that our bodies need: proteins help our bodies grow and are found in meat, fish, eggs and milk; carbohydrates give us energy and are found in bread, rice, potatoes and fruit; vitamins and minerals regulate our body functions and are found in vegetables and fruit; fats provide energy but should be consumed in moderation as they are found in butter, oil and cream; and water is vital for life and is contained in some foods.
