British South India Council of Commerce and Telangana NRI Forum will be hosting a business meet titled "UK Telangana Business Meet" at British Parliament, London on Thursday, 16th July from 2 PM - 5 PM. UK Telangana Business Meet will be the 12th meet of our "business meet" series, which have been held at British Parliament over the last few years, and we have so far engaged around 1650 delegates as part of our mission to promote trade and investment between UK and India, specifically South India.
1. British South India Council of Commerce (BSICC) & Telangana NRI
Forum is organising the UK Telangana Business Meet 2015 on 16th
July 2015 at Houses of Parliament, Westminster, London. This business
meet will be chaired by Mr Virendra Sharma MP, Patron of British South
India Council of Commerce. The audience will include representatives
from Telangana, Members of House of Lords & House of Commons,
representatives from UK companies and Indian companies who are
interested in Telangana and businessmen from India who are successful in
UK.
The State of Telangana is richly endowed with natural and human
resources with competitive socio-economic advantages. The Economy of
Telangana is mainly driven by agriculture. The state has also started to
focus on the fields of information technology and biotechnology.
Telangana is one of top IT exporting states of India. There are 68 Special
Economic Zones in the state. Several major manufacturing and services
industries are in operation mainly around Hyderabad. Automobiles and
auto components industry, spices, mines and minerals, textiles and
apparels, pharmaceutical, horticulture, poultry farming are the main
industries in Telangana. In terms of services, Hyderabad is usually

2. nicknamed as Cyberabad due to its information technology foray and
location of major software industries in the city. Telangana is the first state
to pioneer e-Governance projects across the country. Total IT exports
from Telangana State for the year 2013-14 was Rs.57,257.97 crores
amounting to 10.5% of National IT exports. The IT direct employment
created is 3,27,444. Government of India has declared establishment of
Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR) in Hyderabad,
permanent capital of the state. Benefits off ITIR include Direct Revenues
to the tune of Rs.310,849 crores and an IT Investment potential to the
extent of Rs.219,440 crores. The state government is in the process of
developing Industrial Parks at different places, for specific groups of
industries. The existing parks are Software Park at Hyderabad, HITEC
City for software units, Apparel Park at Gundlapochampalli, Export
Promotion Park at Pashamylaram, Bio-technology park at Turkapally.
As background, British South India Council of Commerce (BSICC) is an
umbrella body of South Indian associations in UK, formed with the
intention to raise UK companies awareness to enormous potential
opportunities in the South Indian states and encourage them to trade and
invest in South Indian States. BSICC has organized 11 business meets at
the UK Parliament so far and have engaged around 1650 delegates as part
of our mission to promote trade and investment between UK and India,

mission is to promote trade and investment between South India and the
UK, and to provide a platform for companies and businessmen who wish
to become part of the South India- U.K trade community. BSICC promotes

Pondicherry, Tamil Nadu & Telangana and also to the Indian audiences
and the Indian media. BSICC have been organising regular business meets
at the UK Parliament over the years and these Business Meets have led to
regular dialogue between UK and Indian businesses to utilise British
expertise and its world-class technology involvement in the infrastructure,
Waste management, Education, Low cost housing in urban and Villages,
Power & Energy and IT projects coming up in the South Indian states and
South Indian companies looking to explore opportunities in UK.
