health care in India, UK
British South India Council of Commerce ( BSICC ) and BookMyHealthCheckup.com to host 'UK India
Healthcare Summit & Awards 2016' to probe how the two nations can solve systemic problems
May 10th , 2016; London: Healthcare service providers from UK and India, policymakers from UK
and India, Members of House of Lords & House of Commons and other invited guests will gather at
the UK Parliament on 20th July, 2016 to examine successful healthcare reforms around the world and
to exchange information on their own efforts, as the two nations seek ways to extend access, improve
quality, and lower the cost of care to their citizens.
'UK India Healthcare Summit & Awards' is 15th summit of BSICC business meet series which have
been held at UK Parliament, London over the last years and this has so far engaged more than 2150
delegates from hundreds of companies and institutions during the course of the last 14 summits. The
summit, organised in association with BookMyHealthCheckup.com, will be held under the theme
'Impact of healthcare reforms in India and UK : Challenges and Opportunities' and will include 3
components - Discussion, Awards and Pledges . Discussions will cover three major topics: healthcare
system reform, public health (addressing chronic diseases) and new technologies. Healthcare
excellence awards takes pride in acknowledging and honouring exemplary efforts by individuals and
organizations who are making an impact in our society. Gift of Healthy life pledge is a commitment
by the healthcare service providers and healthcare practitioners, who are participants of 'UK India
Healthcare Summit & Awards 2016' at the UK Parliament to address health issues of less fortunate &
to deliver a specific number of healthcare services free to cost within a specified period to those who
cannot afford such services. The pledge does not involve supporting a particular organization but
encourages pledgers to make individual decisions about organizations they wish to support or carry
out the initiatives on their own. The pledge is a moral commitment to give, not a legal contract.
The summit aims to establish an understanding of major health industry challenges and opportunities
in India, UK and around the world. The objective of the summit is to advance global health by
promoting the exchange of knowledge, ideas and experiences among current and future healthcare
service sector leaders from India, the U.K. and other countries.
