Good Stuff Happens in 1:1 Meetings: Why you need them and how to do them well
Your Daily Bite-sized Internet Marketing Plan
1. Your Daily Bite-sized Internet Marketing Plan
I’ll give you two scenarios:
Scene #1: imagine yourself eating an entire pizza all at once. Visualize yourself taking in that
whole box and churning it down your throat. That is close to impossible to do.
Scene #2: On the other hand, think of yourself as, bite after bite, enjoying the pizza while you
watch your favorite sitcom on TV, before you know it, the box is empty. Your tummy is full and
you feel satisfied.
Now let’s talk about your internet marketing strategy
goals. Do you see a multitude of tasks that all seem
urgent and you cannot comprehend how to tackle?
You are looking at Scene #1. Try dividing your
internet marketing strategies into smaller chunks of
daily routines that are manageable to do and easier
to bite. Then, you are in Scene #2, and that is way
better.
I would like to suggest to you a bite-sized daily
marketing plan to ease your days and improve how you market your business online. By dividing
your tasks into bite-sized practicable tasks, you create organization and productivity with your
internet marketing strategies.
It all starts in organizing each day. So, let’s have a look at what your day to day schedule could
look like:
2. Monday:
Most of us would rather skip Monday because of the work overload it brings, hence, the term
“Monday sickness.” You will never hear a person say T.G.I.M. (Thank God It’s Monday). This is
known to be the most hectic of your days. As it opens the week, most of the work undone from
the weekend gets carried over on Mondays. It is also the time when new tasks start and previous
tasks get reviewed.
Here are a couple of tasks that you can do on Mondays:
Go to your Google Analytics and check your statistics
Log in to your social media management dashboard and check your statistics
Check your blog for new comments
Check the performance of your status updates on Facebook
Log in to your email marketing service (Aweber, Mailchimp, etc.) and check your stats–how
many people opened your previous email, new subscribers, unsubscribes, open rates, click
rates, etc.
Tuesday:
This is a great day to start getting active on your social networks and do some commenting on
blogs. Start your day by logging in to your social media dashboard or your social networks and
check for messages or comments. Welcome new Twitter followers. Send thank you messages to
people who have re-tweeted your tweets and shared your articles to their followers. Find new
people to connect with on Twitter or LinkedIn. Do you have new requests to connect on
LinkedIn or Facebook? Take this time to accept new requests and send them a personal
message (this is not yet the time to send links to sign up for your free gift or check out your
services page). While I have noticed most people would invite new LinkedIn connections to sign
up for their free gift, I don’t think it’s a good idea. Try to get to know the person first.
Hop on to your favorite blogs and comment on their latest blog posts. This not only builds one-
way links to your website but it helps you establish your credibility.
Wednesday:
You are now in your midweek. Wednesdays can be devoted to writing blog posts. Whip up
something juicy that your readers will love to read and share with their community.
An ideal three 500-word articles is great and can be scheduled to be published for the week.
Don’t know what to write about? Go to your Facebook fan page or LinkedIn group discussions
3. and look for hot topics being asked by your target audience. Setting aside some time to write
blog posts will help you increase your online visibility.
Thursday:
Now that you have written the articles, it is time for you to create links to your site and promote
your previously written blog posts. Upload your articles on Ezine Articles. Promote your blog
posts on social bookmarking sites such as Digg or Stumbleupon. Start a discussion on LinkedIn
related to your blog post topic. Tweet and share your blog posts on Facebook. This is a great
day to maximize your social connections and promote your content.
Friday:
Before the week draws to a close, create status updates for scheduling for the next week. Doing
so will give you more time to focus on engaging in conversations on other days of the week and
doing other internet marketing activities.
Saturday:
Ahh finally it’s the weekend! This is the culmination of all your marketing efforts during the
week. You can use this day to read industry news, or brainstorm on topics to write about.
Personally I use Saturdays for creating videos, writing my ezine and then scheduling it to go out
on Tuesdays.
Sunday:
This is a time for you to sit back, relax and enjoy the pizza. Relish on your bite-sized daily
marketing efforts. Feel the satisfaction. Kudos! You have done it!
Have fun following these tips and from now on, plan your internet marketing strategies one bite
at a time.
