Rujuta Diwekar is a Mumbai-based celebrity nutritionist and winner of the prestigious “Nutrition
award” from Asian Institute of Gastroenterology and was voted as 50 most powerful people in
India by People magazine in 2012.She is mostly known as Kareena Kapoor’s Dietician. But, she
has worked with other celebrities too like Karishma Kapoor, Anupam Kher, Saif Ali Khan and
most recent Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Nita and Mukesh Ambani who lost 108 kg in 18
months by the help of Rujuta Diwekar.
Rujuta Diwerkar is more focused on eat local & think global. This is the slogan she is endorsing
to all of her clients and fans. I came to know about her by some of her YouTube videos which
were so logical and convincing. The way she defines about the food and it's relation with our
body is so divine. They right way of living a healthy life is just how our Dadi or Nani used to do
but we simply avoid their lifestyle and are lost in our own busy life.
She is the only dietician who tells us that one should eat, to lose weight which is so amazing.
Other dieticians instruct us to avoid this and that and consume this much of calorie in a day and
blah blah, which make us so scared and force us to believe that losing weight is an impossible
task. Whereas, Rujuta Diwekar tells us to eat whatever we like but local and fresh foods. She
says that one should not count the calorie of the food instead, we should count the nutrients of
the food.

1. Eat local & seasonal food - Eat Banana instead of Apple because Banana is local not
Apple (except you live in Kashmir)
2. Don’t eat tea & coffee in the morning or empty stomach - Of course, you would not like to
nourish your hungry cells with tea and coffee.
3. Eat homemade food. Pack homemade food for lunch if you work. If sometimes you have
to eat outside food than eat in moderation. For example, If you used to eat half of the
pizza than reduce it with just a slice of it - Eating your favourite food once in a while
reduce your craving and you will not end up having lots and lots of junk food.
4. Eat every two hours - Eating every two hours help your metabolism rate to increase. Your
body cells stop storing fats.
5. Do strength exercises at least thrice a week - Strength training exercises help increasing
muscles in our body. Muscles are leaner than fat. It also helps to increase metabolism
rate.
6. Sit crossed leg on the floor while eating & chew your food as much as possible - Sitting
crossed leg helps to send blood flow to our stomach area. which help with better
digestion. It takes around 20 mins to send a signal to our brain that we are full while
eating.
7. Sip on water whole day - Do I need to describe why water is so good? we all know it :).
Eating 2 glass of water, 30 min. before eating helps to control your appetite and yeah sip
on all day.
8. Have banana as soon as you wake up - Our blood sugar level is dropped at the time we
wake up in the morning. It will help to balance our sugar level. Banana is local food. So, it
is not toxic or you can have any fruit you like. There are no restrictions.
9. Eat breakfast within 1 hour after you wake up - Skipping breakfast or having late
breakfast will lead you to eat more in the afternoon. Which is obviously not good.
Because our metabolism rates are higher till Noon and it will gradually slow down.
10. Eat your dinner at least 2 hours before you sleep - After dinner, we usually watch tv or do
very less activity. So, it is better to have dinner at least 2 hours before your bedtime.
The above-mentioned tips are the conclusion of her book “Don’t Lose your mind, Loose your
weight”. These tips are not actually to lose weight but it is more focused on Living Healthy life
with nutritious foods. It helps your skin glow, helps on lots of other physical problems most of us
usually have like a headache, Sleeplessness, Body ache etc. Weight loss comes as a bonus by
following these tips. It is so wonderful that we are allowed to eat whatever we like in moderation
(Except outside food) and get a healthy life. Just we have to do is to listen what to our stomach.
She says it is absolutely ok to have white rice, Potato, Banana, Mango which are avoided during
weight loss program. She encourages everybody to have full-fat cow milk and ghee. She strictly
instructs to avoid that kind of food which is advertised to be low fat, high fiber and etc. So, eat
local and think global...!

10 Weight Loss Tips By Celebrity Dietitian Rujuta Diwekar !

Rujuta Diwekar is a Mumbai-based celebrity nutritionist and winner of the prestigious “Nutrition award” from Asian Institute of Gastroenterology and was voted as 50 most powerful people in India by People magazine in 2012.She is mostly known as Kareena Kapoor’s Dietician. But, she has worked with other celebrities too like Karishma Kapoor, Anupam Kher, Saif Ali Khan and most recent Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Nita and Mukesh Ambani who lost 108 kg in 18 months by the help of Rujuta Diwekar. Rujuta Diwerkar is more focused on eat local & think global. This is the slogan she is endorsing to all of her clients and fans. I came to know about her by some of her YouTube videos which were so logical and convincing. The way she defines about the food and it's relation with our body is so divine. They right way of living a healthy life is just how our Dadi or Nani used to do but we simply avoid their lifestyle and are lost in our own busy life. She is the only dietician who tells us that one should eat, to lose weight which is so amazing. Other dieticians instruct us to avoid this and that and consume this much of calorie in a day and blah blah, which make us so scared and force us to believe that losing weight is an impossible task. Whereas, Rujuta Diwekar tells us to eat whatever we like but local and fresh foods. She says that one should not count the calorie of the food instead, we should count the nutrients of the food. Eat local & seasonal food - Eat Banana instead of Apple because Banana is local not Apple (except you live in Kashmir) 2. Don’t eat tea & coffee in the morning or empty stomach - Of course, you would not like to nourish your hungry cells with tea and coffee. 3. Eat homemade food. Pack homemade food for lunch if you work. If sometimes you have to eat outside food than eat in moderation. For example, If you used to eat half of the pizza than reduce it with just a slice of it - Eating your favourite food once in a while reduce your craving and you will not end up having lots and lots of junk food. 4. Eat every two hours - Eating every two hours help your metabolism rate to increase. Your body cells stop storing fats. 5. Do strength exercises at least thrice a week - Strength training exercises help increasing muscles in our body. Muscles are leaner than fat. It also helps to increase metabolism rate. 6. Sit crossed leg on the floor while eating & chew your food as much as possible - Sitting crossed leg helps to send blood flow to our stomach area. which help with better digestion. It takes around 20 mins to send a signal to our brain that we are full while eating. 7. Sip on water whole day - Do I need to describe why water is so good? we all know it :). Eating 2 glass of water, 30 min. before eating helps to control your appetite and yeah sip on all day. 8. Have banana as soon as you wake up - Our blood sugar level is dropped at the time we wake up in the morning. It will help to balance our sugar level. Banana is local food. So, it is not toxic or you can have any fruit you like. There are no restrictions.
  • 2. 9. Eat breakfast within 1 hour after you wake up - Skipping breakfast or having late breakfast will lead you to eat more in the afternoon. Which is obviously not good. Because our metabolism rates are higher till Noon and it will gradually slow down. 10. Eat your dinner at least 2 hours before you sleep - After dinner, we usually watch tv or do very less activity. So, it is better to have dinner at least 2 hours before your bedtime. The above-mentioned tips are the conclusion of her book “Don’t Lose your mind, Loose your weight”. These tips are not actually to lose weight but it is more focused on Living Healthy life with nutritious foods. It helps your skin glow, helps on lots of other physical problems most of us usually have like a headache, Sleeplessness, Body ache etc. Weight loss comes as a bonus by following these tips. It is so wonderful that we are allowed to eat whatever we like in moderation (Except outside food) and get a healthy life. Just we have to do is to listen what to our stomach. She says it is absolutely ok to have white rice, Potato, Banana, Mango which are avoided during weight loss program. She encourages everybody to have full-fat cow milk and ghee. She strictly instructs to avoid that kind of food which is advertised to be low fat, high fiber and etc. So, eat local and think global...!
