![Abstract Children identified as ‘emotionally disturbed’ are at increased risk for developing aggressive behaviors. This study evaluated the effects of an 11-week anger management program implemented in a Day Treatment Center to reduce aggressive and disruptive behavior of 11 children aged 6 to 12 years. Six children were in the anger management/experimental condition and five were in a wait-list control condition. Data were collected in the children’s classrooms using direct observations of behavior. Results indicate that, on average, children at the day treatment center had more verbal aggressive and disruptive behavior than physical aggressive and disruptive behavior. Results for the experimental group indicate no reduction in problem behavior from pre- to post-intervention. Future research could be conducted to identify if Anger Management is useful for some children (e.g. younger children, more behavior problems). Contact Information: Shauna E.
