1. Fifth Grade Summer
Reading
Required title: The Wild Robot by Peter Brown
Read The Wild Robot carefully and at a point in the summer
when you are able to remember it well. You will be
completing activities based on this book at the beginning of
the school year.
In addition to reading The Wild Robot, you will choose three
books to read from the Fifth Grade Summer Reading Choice
List. Each book must be from a different genre. Visit the
5th
Grade Blog at http://bpsfifth.berkeleyprep.net to find the
Shelvable link. Click on the link in the post about summer
reading. This virtual bookshelf will allow you to explore
each book further and also provides a link to the book on
Amazon.
For each of these books, you will select one of the
activities listed on the Project Choices sheet (see second
page). These projects must be completed at home before the
start of school and will be turned in to your child’s
homeroom teacher.
