18. After you “check out” a book, you
still need to tap “Download” to get it
onto your Nook.
19. The first time you use the app, you’ll
have to authorize it with an Adobe ID.
Tap “Settings” if you already have one,
or “Get ID” for a free Adobe ID.
20. Adobe IDs
• If you’ve used OverDrive on another device
other than Kindle, you already have an Adobe
ID and password. You can enter them now.
You won’t have to do it again.
• If you don’t have an Adobe ID yet, it’s free.
Just tap on “Get ID,” fill out the form, and
then enter your ID and password. You only
have to do this once.
• Remember your ID and password in case
you use OverDrive on another device or
computer.
21. Now your ebook should download. You
can even see how many days are left!
Tap it to begin reading.
22. The first time, instructions will pop up.
After you read them, you can tap
“Close” to proceed.
23. Now you’re reading!
Tap the menu icon on the bottom of the
screen (3 lines in a circle) for more
options.
24. Menu Options
• While reading a book, tap the menu icon
at the bottom of the screen to see options.
• Reader Settings lets you adjust font,
color, margins, and other display settings.
• Return/Delete lets you return a book early
or just delete a book from your device.
• Tap Bookshelf to see all of your books or
download more.
25. Tap a word for a second or two to look
it up in the dictionary.
26. Audiobooks will play with touchscreen
controls for Volume, Play/Pause, Back,
Forward, Quick Backup, and “Bookmark.”
