15. PROJECT DEVELOPMENT
PHASE I YEAR 2007
We had acquired 5,5 hectares of land in the District of Angkor Thom, 40 KM
from Angkor Wat.
PHASE II YEAR 2010
The land has been cleared from bush and we began to make the lay-out for the
proposed community. Basic infrastructures like cottage, well, boundary fence
were constructed, then we began producing our own crops, putting the nursery
fruits trees on the ground & introduced learning and teaching skills to the local
villagers.
16. PHASE III Year 2011
We established our little Temple, and invited one local family to stay. The
devotees from Indonesia spent few days a week regularly at the farm. And at
the end of the year we got our first crop of rice. We also harvested lot of
beans, vegetables, cassava and sweet potatos.
PHASE IV Year 2012
We invited another family to stay so they could expand the field.
Brahmacaries then started the second season of growing and stayed on the
land longer. We started our Food for Life program, and held noon kirtan. We
gave a summer course to a few children and interacted with the cows.
PHASE V Year 2013 to 2015
We built up our Vaisnava traditional school cum temple. We dug two ponds
and arranged for better water irrigations system. We continued to cultivate
the land with the help of local families and we continued our Food for Life
program in the village.
