• To the disciples including Thomas a week later
(John 20-21) while dining
• To Simon Peter and others who were fishing on Lake
Tiberias (Jesus restores Peter) (John 20-21) – catch
153 fish at once.
• Over the next 40 days, Jesus appears all of these as
well as Saul/Paul, James, and another grouping of
about 500 people.
7. • During one of His last resurrected visits with the disciples, He
reminds them about His past Holy Spirit discussions:
– Mark 1:8 (John the Baptist)
• “I baptized you with water; but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”
– John 14:16
• “I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may
be with you forever…”
– John 14:26
• “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name,
He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I
said to you.”
– John 15:26
• “When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, that
is the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify about
Me”
– John 16:7
• “…it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the
Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you.”
• Finally, as Jesus is wrapping up His time with them He says:
– John 20:22
• “…He breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.”
8. • Jesus journey on earth was complete – for now.
– He will come again! (Matthew 24)
• Be Ready! “Therefore, be on the alert, for you do not know which day your
Lord is coming.”
• (Pre) Promise: “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to
you (through the Holy Spirit)”

– Luke 24:45-49 – “I am sending forth the promise (Holy Spirit) of My
Father upon you; but you are to stay in the city until you are clothed with
power from on high.”
9. • 10 days later, during the day of Pentecost, the
promised Holy Spirit arrives (Acts 2:1-4)
• People who didn’t speak the same language, could
all understand one another!
• Peter speaks with a boldness never shown before

that day…and that was just the beginning!

through…you’ll be fed along the way.

• Go and do; with His power in you!
– Ephesians 2:10 - …created in Christ for good works, that God
prepared for us to do!
• John 13:34-35
– “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have
loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will
know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
13.
14. • THE Greatest Journey ever made, (and greatest
story ever told) was the journey God took in
becoming man for our salvation.
– All great stories borrow from this one!!
• Jesus repaired the relationship and enable us to be
filled with the Holy Spirit.
• Now – empowered by the Holy Spirit we are to DO –
from HIS strength (plugged in) not ours (cordless).
