2. GOD IS NOT ABOUT Formulas!!
• Remember…
• GOD can’t be computed,
described, comprehended,
or completely understood…
– No formula for God…
– …and God isn’t bound by
formulas (i.e: cause = effect)
• Isaiah 55:8 – “My thoughts
are not your thoughts;
neither are your ways My
ways, says the LORD.”

Beginning…
• Setting the stage
– Humans created for
fellowship & relationship
with the Lord God
Almighty
– God put His spirit in them
initially.
– One rule: Don’t eat from
the Tree of the
Knowledge of Good &
Evil (Genesis 2:16-17)

8. Enter the Enemy
theirs & ours
• Satan twisted God’s
words…
• Got Eve to believe the
lie…
• Adam, silent, stood idly
by
• As a result, all “traitors”
are the enemy’s property
– Hint: When you are born,
you are born a traitor – into
the family of traitors
(mankind)

9. The Curse
• Like our other stories this
week…
– Adam & Eve “Did evil in the sight
of the Lord”
• The price/punishment for
disobedience = death…physical
& spiritual
– God took His life out of them
– Banished from the Garden
– You were born enslaved/in
bondage thanks to this event
• You are born dead (spiritually)
• God started to work behind the
scenes then to redeem/rescue
mankind…

10. The Task At Hand - The Chasm
Too Far to Cross…
• God longs for the intimate relationship with us that He had in the
Garden of Eden.
• The Problem: We can’t have that relationship in our current sinful
state…we are broken; the relationship is fractured by sin…
– Sinful mankind can’t re-enter perfect & holy relationship with God (certainly
not on their own), unless a blood ransom is paid to “buy back” the
relationship.
• The witch says, “Every traitor belongs to me. His blood is my property.”

11. • The amount of consideration paid for the release of a
person or property, captured or detained.
• The redemption of a prisoner, slave, or kidnapped
person, for a price.
• A means of deliverance or rescue from punishment
for sin, especially the payment of a redemptive fine.

12. The Wild Rescue Mission
• God loves you too
much!
• You are too valuable to
Him to let die!
• He made up His mind to
pay the blood ransom
due with the only
acceptable currency…

14. JESUS IS THE
• Aslan said, “She has renounced her claim on the son of Adam’s
blood…”
– Why? B/c Aslan gives HIS life, his blood in exchange for Edmund’s
• In the same way, Jesus paid the price we owed
• Jesus bridges the gap as only He can
– He “parachuted in” behind the lines of enemy occupied territory to
save us/rescue us!!

16. • John 14:20 - The UNION!
– “In that day you will know that
• I am in My Father,
• And you in Me,
• And I in you.”
• Ephesians 1:13
– “In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth,
the gospel of your salvation – having also believed,
• You were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise,
• Who is given as a pledge of our inheritance…”
– You were adopted into His Holy Family
