Good Stuff Happens in 1:1 Meetings: Why you need them and how to do them well
7 rules of content curation by Jan Friman [POD + SLIDEDECK]
1. Content curation is fast becoming a mainstay
activity. It's a marketing thing - creating
audience & trust. But also dialogue and learning.
Both personal and inter-personal. We meet JAN
FRIMAN. Long-term curator, leading digital
thinker. These are his rules for content curation.

of content curation

2. Purpose determines everything. Why do you
curate? What is your passion? Who do you want
touch? If you don't fall in love with your subject,
people won't get engaged with your curation.
Play for one person - don't play for a faceless
audience. Because the individuals will notice.
1. RULE
Curate with a PURPOSE!

3. Just do it! Curate everyday. Manage your
inbound content stream so that you see useful
stuff everyday. Then act on it directly - keep the
raw signal of your reaction and the original
content. And post! So that there is no loss of
quality.
2. RULE
Curate everyday!

4. You have to have passion. And where does that
passion come from? What are you most keen to
learn? What does your target group care to learn
about? What drives them? Passion brings
freshness and nakedness that make people want
to engage with you as a curator.
3. RULE
put your HEART into it!
SLIDEDECK FROM LOHMANN360
5. Not just the facts and numbers. Who are the
individuals you are curating for? Why do they
crave this? How will your content help
improving their professional
relations? Understand the value web, the context
- the networks - in which the individuals act...
4. RULE
Know WHO for...
SLIDEDECK FROM LOHMANN360
6. Curation does not stop. Just as the social stream
it is an activity you are in for life. So why not
give it your best effort? If you connect this
thought to the initial purpose of your curation
(Rule #1) - a daunting task turns meaningful.
Running with a meaning.
5. RULE
MORE than a marathon...

7. Turn things on its head. Go back to yourself.
Curation is a tremendous opportunity to
develop your own knowledge and wisdom. But
there is no separation here -as you engage in
learning to activate collective intelligence your
own wisdom grows. Kind of neat...
6.RULE
Curate to LEARN & get WISDOM
SLIDEDECK FROM LOHMANN360
8. Be generous with your knowledge - don't hold
back! Be GENERATIVE - add something to the
conversation. Comment, make the curation an
even bigger learning experience than just
sharing content. Connect the dots, spark
knowledge weaving within your audience!
7.RULE
DON'T hold back!
