1. Question 6: What have you learnt about the technologies from the process of constructing this product ?

2. Introduction During the construction of this product we have learnt a variety of new skills and a better knowledge of using the technologies we were using.

3. Digital Video Camera We used a digital video camera to film our media product, we learnt how to turn the camera on and put the tape in so we were able to film. We also learnt how to use a tripod for shots when we needed the camera to be steady, this really helped when we wanted to direct the audience’s attention to the content of the shot rather than the shot itself.

4. Adobe Premiere Elements This is a software that allowed us to edit, cut and add transitions to my product as we progressed. I learnt how to successfully edit a film using the correct software and used it in my product to change the saturation and contrast of the shots to change the tone of the film.

5. Dafont.com During construction of our media product we had to research different fonts to be used in the opening titles that were appropriate and consistent with the genre of the film and I learnt the difference between what an acceptable font is and what isn't acceptable.

6. Freesound.org When constructing our film we had to consider the possibility of sound effects and music and in order to help with this I used freesound.org which provides free music to the general public for their own use. During the research I soon learnt to identify sound effects that would positively effect the overall product.

7. After effects After effects is a software that allows the user access to more advanced film effects to be added near completion of the production. We used After effects in our film opening during a series of flashback sequences to give an edgy feel to the pace of the story.

8. YouTube I learnt to upload videos onto the world’s largest video sharing community that is ‘YouTube’ this was so that we were able to share our product online. We also used YouTube to get examples of other thriller films to analyze and gain influence when constructing our own product.

9. BlogSpot We learnt how to embed videos from YouTube onto our blogs, this was so that we could show our progression of our construction and planning with examples of other thriller films and our final product.
