The presentation will focus on the next steps employers should take to remain in compliance with health care reform. For example, after meeting the initial requirements that are to be effective January 1, 2011, employers should: •determine if they should retain grandfathered status for their plans •prepare for changes to internal and external review procedures •if applicable, examine the effect on their plans of the change in taxation for retiree drug coverage •examine their HRIS and Benefit Systems in anticipation of the automatic enrollment requirements •prepare for W-2 reporting of the value of health care benefits •prepare for HHS regulations on benefit summaries; and •prepare for the rule requiring 60 days advance notice of material modifications in plan terms and coverage.
