5. We have decided that we will not be using any of the ideas on the pages before. The reason for this being that the ideas before were effective, however they would be very hard to make successful with the equipment and time we have available. We have had group discussions and have researched into another idea we have talked about. We have decided that this will be our final idea and feel that after a great deal of planning this we be made to a high level. On the upcoming pages as a group we are going to explain our idea and begin to plan our final product for our trailer. Final Decisions

7. Story Board We have discussed the plot of our film trailer therefore we are now ready to create a story board which will help us when we begin filming. We will sketch the shots adding the time and type of shot. I will do this on paper and scan it in which is shown below.

12. Fonts for Title We have been looking at different fonts, trying to find the best suitable one for the genre of our film trailer. We then analysed these, talking about the advantages and disadvantages. As a group we have chosen to use ….. This font grabbed our attention immediately as it was perfect for what we wanted. In our opinion we believe that it has no disadvantages apart from colour which can be changed at a later date. Its main advantage is the fact it is stereotypical for the genre we are aiming at. We have decided that we will carry out our search due to the fact that the font may not tell part of the story like others may do. As a group, we picked this title together and talked about it in great depth. We felt that it was an effective title, however after looking into it further we believed that it wasn’t suitable for our genre, being more suitable for a medieval genre. T I T L E OF FILM After huge discussions we have decided to go with this san serif font due to the fact that it is both basic yet effective. We have looked at several existing trailers which have similar fonts to this therefore we feel this will be successful.
13. Colours Scheme for Title Black and Red: Firstly we analysed the colours black and red, we wanted to experiment with a variety of colours to see which worked well together. Black and red were well matched and suited the genre of our film. We have decided to have black, red and white would work well together, we have also decided that this will be used on the trailer, poster and magazine that we are creating. This is effective as it shows continuity within the magazine and reflects near professional standards. We feel that these colours are regularly used on trailer, this meaning that they are generally quite successful colours that work well with an audience. As a group, we like the idea of using these colours as we think that they stand out and are eye-catching for the audience. Black and Yellow: We feel that these colours would not help our trailer reach its potential; we strongly believe that these colours do not work well together as they don’t suit the title font or name. A final disadvantage with this colour scheme is the fact that they are commonly not associated with each other, which is not beneficial for our trailer, magazine or poster as we have decided to keep colours consistent throughout. I have looked at several different colour schemes in which I want my magazine to follow, each colour scheme has been taken from different magazines and I am comparing them to see which schemes are best suited for my magazine and the audience I want to attract.
14. Black and Blue: On our trailer title and background, we have tried the colour black and blue together however we didn’t feel they looked as good together as we had expected. We think that these colours are too dark for a our trailer, especially for a magazine and poster. Another disadvantages with these colours is that these are often related as negative colours that would not help promote/advertise my magazine. Black and Purple: Immediately after trying these colours for our trailer, we realised that these didn’t look professional and realistic. As they are both dark colours, we do not think that it would attract our target audience. A thriller trailer should be basic colours reflecting what the trailer is about , however we do not feel that these colours do this. All of the contrasting colours above will also be used with white therefore the our title will consist of 3 main colours. In conclusion, we have decided that black, red and white are going to be the three main colours. We feel that these colours reflect what the trailer is about.
15. Casting As a group, we thought about the actors in depth. We felt that these all fitted the theme of our film in some way therefore we had a group discussion talking about both the advantages and disadvantages of each character. Below each character’s image, we are going to write about whether or not we will use them and the reasons for this. We considered Jack advantageous to our trailer, however his timetable clashed with ours therefore he was unable to film when we had planned. Jake fitted the profile we had envisioned, however due to being a successful actor he had prior commitments that were more important to him progressing. One of the main advantages of Nathan was his image as we felt it fitted our image criteria. Whilst story boarding we realised that he will only be used for a quick shot however will be used effectively.
16. Casting continued We considered Lucy for one of the main parts in our film, however when we looked into this further we realised she did not fit the part as we envisioned. After deciding that Susan would help our film be successful she had prior commitments including her own media work. The reason we asked Frankie to participate when choosing our characters we felt that her dark features may useful as a victim, however not for the other role. This was unhelpful as we already had a drama student who fitted the victim role well.
