Enrolments:
NZ ICT diploma & CS bachelor degree female participation rates in
2009 ( ) were 23% & 28% respectively
USA - among the member schools, the share of bachelor’s
degrees in CS granted to females rose to 13.8% in 2010, an increase
of 2.5 percentage points over 2009
Europe – female participation rates in CS & CE sitting at 28% in 2009
Jobs:
NZ Seek ICT jobs adverts for the month of August;
Auckland down 4%, Wellington down 18% and Canterbury
down 5%
Waikato experienced an 11% growth rate, the second
consecutive increase of significance (14% last month)
All NZ fell by 8% (Down 2% same period 2010)

Quarter:
Hiring intentions in the information technology sector (31.4%) are at the
highest level in over six years
More than half of employers (56.2%) surveyed plan to increase
permanent headcount

to the first quarter of 2011
