ConclusionDemand for Skills A common theme in both local and global markets points to a steadily increasing demand for programmers/developers experienced in;  Java  C/C#  PHP  .NET  SQL Seek ICT ads for Canterbury have significantly increased this month for all languages; e.g. Java by 47.6%, and for DBA/Developer with Oracle up by 19.6% and SAP up by 29% According to Trademe jobs the IT sector is the most active area (field) in the Wellington job market (Seek ICT job ads for Wellington decreased by 5.5% this month) The base median salary for Wellington, according to the Absolute IT Remuneration Report, is the highest for all regions at $80,000
