MARKET UPDATES & STOCK RECOMMENDATION
Bursa Malaysia finished the day in the red despite the regional bourses' bullish performances after
positive data for China's factory activity. The benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) declined by
5.86 points to end at 1,840.19 points after moving between 1,832.54 points and 1,842.15 points
throughout the dayThe HSBC China Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) rose to 50.5 in September from
August's final reading of 50.2, beating a Reuters poll forecast of 50.
The ringgit closed unchanged against the US dollar today in a choppy market, said a dealer. At 5pm, the
ringgit was quoted the same as yesterday's 3.2430/2460. A dealer said most of the regional currencies
edged up today taking the cue from stronger-than-expected China's factory survey putting aside concerns
of economic slowdown in the world's second-largest economyThe ringgit fell against the yen to
2.9724/9762 from Monday's 2.9717/9758 and decreased against the euro to 4.1669/1718 from
4.1663/1708 yesterday.
Malaysian rubber prices extended their fall at close today, tracking the Shanghai Futures Exchange's
(SHFE) downtrend, as more traders remained on the sidelines, a dealer said. The dealer said the SHFE
experienced a downtrend today on concern over the unsteady export growth and softening domestic
demand. The Malaysian Rubber Board's official physical price for tyre-grade SMR 20 lost 8.0 sen to 469.5
sen a kg at noon while latex-in-bulk eased 2.5 sen to 386 sen a kg The unofficial closing price for tyre-grade
SMR 20 slipped 2.5 sen to 468.5 sen a kg while latex-in-bulk fell 1.5 sen to 386.5 sen a kg.
Standard & Poor's Ratings Services has assigned its 'BBB+' issue rating to RHB Bank Bhd's US$5 billion Euro
medium-term note (MTN) programme. the rating agency said RHB Bank's senior unsecured notes under
the programme would constitute direct, unconditional, unsecured, and unsubordinated obligations of the
bank, and shall at all times rank equally with all other unsecured obligations It said the programme entails
a substitution clause such that if RHB Bank is merged or consolidated into another corporation, the latter
will replace RHB Bank as the principal debtor. It said the 'BBB+' rating is applicable to RHB Bank as the
principal debtor, and might change if the substitution clause is triggered.
Luxury shoe brand Jimmy Choo unveiled plans on Tuesday to launch on the London market next month to
raise cash for expansion in Asia and elsewhere. The group said in a statement that its owner JAB Luxury
has agreed to float a The firm did not state how much cash it was aiming to raise, but media reported the
IPO would value the group at £600 million (US$981 million, 763 million euros).25-per cent stake in a
partial initial public offering (IPO) on the London Stock Exchange.
DHL Express, the international express mail service provider, is aiming for positive growth next year
following the expansion of its gateway in Penang to be Malaysia's largest international express facility.
DHL Express plans to have 92 service points by end-2014 from the current 89.
Malaysian Resources Corp Bhd (MRCB) has been shortlisted to bid for the 1,000-tonne per day waste-to-energy
incinerator project in Taman Beringin, Kepong, which is estimated to cost up to RM800 million.
