MARKET WRAP
Indian markets ended down. Sensex & Nifty went down by 1.02% & 1.08%.
Wall St traded mixed. US Unemployment Claims decreased by 1k to 287K
Asia-Pacific markets traded mixed. GBP Manufacturing Production 0.1%. Indian indices fell on global woes. Weakness in European stocks and tension at the Indo-Pak border hit investor sentiment. Germany, reported its exports fell 5.8% in August, the worst decline since January 2009 and industrial output in August slid 4%. The HSBC China services Purchasing Managers Index edged down to 53.5 in September. The IMF cut its outlook for global growth in 2015. Nifty is expected to be trade in range with volatile trade and will move within the spread of 8150 to 7750 level. Indian markets settled down as weakness in global stocks amid concern global growth is slowing. Industrial Production (IIP) at 0.4% against 0.5% (m/m), led by a contraction in the manufacturing and capital goods growth. Infosys gained after the company reported good Q2 result and announced a liberal 1:1 bonus issue. Data will be watch for this week, combined consumer price indices and inflation based on Wholesale Price Index. Nifty slipped by 85 pts to settle at 7859. Sensex dropped by 270 pts to 26297.
World markets traded mixed. Most of the indices traded down in the last week, on the back of Europe concern. European markets saw sharp selling; DAX and CAC fell by over 4%. FTSE went lower by 2.88%. US slumped amid concern over Europe's economy. NASDAQ declined by 4.45%. DJIA & S&P 500 dropped by 1.78% & 3.14% resp. Asian indices traded mixed; Nikkei shrank by 2.60%. Hang seng & Jakarta closed with marginal gain by 0.10% and 0.27%.. Straits Times ended with marginal loss 0.90%.
