“Flicker of hope…Rejection to Rejuvenation” is about celebrating the life of an Individual, who had fought against all odds throughout his life. In a sense, this story is nothing new. However, the representation of the story brings a new flavor and direction for the readers.

Flicker of Hope...Foreword by Mr.Bimal Rath
1. Writing a book about a historical character is fraught with risk at best.
Readers have some knowledge but mostly perceptions about past
characters based on a few things. Their own values and upbringing, and
stories they have been told from time to time, including the story, how it
has been told and at what time in life’s journey.
Literary critics of course always have a field day picking holes in factual
matters in any book, as well as style and of course language and
characterization. Historical characters always provide them an additional
avenue to critique.
The central character is well etched out (I will not disclose any more!),
and very relatable. While it is a historical ‘person’, it often feels like a
modern man, with all the fragilities and potential strengths. See
yourselves in this man.
Bhabani’s book is a racy read, more important it throws light not just on
the central personality but a few associated ones. What is interesting is
an edge to the characterization, almost as if there are sharp black and
white tones to the images, which while grey, are not really all that grey.
Reading the book was bit of a breeze. It felt like one was going through a
short and racy journey, with some end in mind, but no real care about
where one ended up.
For those of you, who do go through the full book, note the tones and
tenors of language and crafting of paragraphs. I enjoyed it.
All the best Bhabani, for your journey as a writer, moving ahead from
this first book.
