2014 NATIONAL BDPA TECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE AND CAREER EXPO

We are seeking dynamic, engaging, and knowledgeable presenters for the
2014 National BDPA Technology Conference.
AUDIENCE
The primary conference audience consists of multiple levels of IT professionals,
from entry-level technologists to senior level managers and corporate
executives. Entrepreneurs and educators will also be in attendance. Workshop
content and instruction should be geared to a level that is appropriate for the
target audience.
CRITERIA
Proposals are solicited for 60-minute presentations that are interactive,
creative, dynamic, and feature best practices in IT. The presentation timeframe
will include introductions, presentation material, question and answer session,
and evaluation. Attendees should leave with specific knowledge and skills
about various aspects of the topic and how it relates to their future
development. Presentations should provide attendees with educational value
and refrain from promoting a specific business, product, or service.

If you have an industry topic that is leading edge and within the areas of focus but is not on
the list above, we encourage you to submit your idea for special consideration.
2. YOUTH WORKSHOP FORUM
AUDIENCE
The Youth Workshop Forum audience will include middle and high school
students. Your presentation’s objective is to enhance the students' capacity to
explore and utilize emerging technology. The presentation should also inspire
and empower these future professionals to embrace and effectively use
Information Technology in their academic and professional careers.
CRITERIA
Proposals are solicited for 120-minute hands-on presentations that are
interactive, creative, dynamic, and feature best practices in IT. Attendees
should leave with specific knowledge and hands-on skills about various
aspects of your topic and how it relates to their future development. Also,
presentations should provide attendees with educational value and refrain from
promoting a business, product, or service.

3. SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS & SPECIFICATIONS
I. A complete workshop slide deck will is required within 30 days of your
acceptance as a presenter.
II. SUBMISSIONS
All information must be submitted to presentation@bdpa.org by
January 25, 2014.
Submitting the Workshop Abstract
Workshop abstracts are submitted online. You must complete a separate
abstract for each distinct presentation you wish to submit by January 25,
2014.
All submitters will be notified of acceptance, regret or wait listed by February
10, 2014. Presenters are encouraged to upload a photograph and a bio at the
time abstracts are submitted. Bios are limited to a maximum of 100 words.
The goal of the presenter bio is to provide us with a high-level view of your
career and your major accomplishments. Photographs and presenter bios will
be included in our marketing materials.
Bio Guidelines
- Full name, current job title and organization’s name
- Description of your role in the organization and the products/services it
provides
- Highlights from your career as it relates to your current position
- Key civic activities and personal interests
- Degrees, certifications, awards, honors and authored publications

Submitting the Full Presentation
Upon acceptance, a NBDPA 2014 Conference Power Point Presentation
template will be provided for the creation of your workshop presentation to be
delivered at the conference. Also, a speaker agreement and disclosure form
will be given.
PowerPoint Presentations should be submitted to presentation@bdpa.org. The
reference line should read “2014 CFP Presentation (Your Name)”:
Presentations should be submitted no later than May 1, 2014.
Presentations should be saved with the following naming convention:
Current Year, Underscore, Workshop Title, Underscore, First Initial and Last
Name. Example: 2014_IT Project Management_JDoe.
Presentations that do not meet the aforementioned requirements or
the submission deadline will be automatically wait-listed.
4. III. FEES & PRESENTER BENEFITS
As a presenter for the 2014 National BDPA Technology Conference your
conference registration is discounted by 50%. The registration includes access
to all workshops and seminars, plenary sessions and the Awards Gala.
Conference registration fees are not waived for co-presenters.
Additional benefits include access to the BDPA discounted room rates. BDPA
does not pay presenters an honorarium or speaker fee. Presenters are
responsible for their own travel and lodging expenses. Visit

IV. WORKSHOP FORMATS
A variety of workshop presentation formats are desirable at the conference and
may include lecture format, panel presentation, or roundtable discussions.
Handouts may be appropriate, depending on the complexity of the topic.
Presenters are responsible for providing copies of workshop handouts
and any equipment that will be used during presentation this includes
laptops or iPads.
