36. Thar Desert
Thar (Sindh):
• thar is the 17th largestdesert in
the world. It is located in the
Indian state of Rajasthan, and is
stretched in the Southern portion
of the Haryana and Punjab states,
and in the northern Gujrat area.
While in Pakistan it covers
eastern Sindh province and in
Punjab province covered the
Southeastern portion. Cholistan
desert join the Thar Desert and
spread in the Punjab province of
Pakistan. Thar dessert is
surrounded by Satluj River in the
northwest side.

38. Thal Desert
Thal desert (Punjab):
• it is located in Punjab, Pakistan. It is a wide
area between Sindh and Jhelum rivers near
to Pothohar Plateau. It has total length of
190 miles from North to South. And its
breadth is 70 miles and 20 miles is its
minimum length. This area is divided into
different parts i.e Khushab, Mainwali, Layyah,
Jhang, Bhakkar and Muzaffarabad. In the
jhang it is on the bank of Jhelum River. It has
resemblance with cholistan and Thar. Major
towns of Thal are Hayderabad Thal, Mankera,
Piplane, Koat Aazam, Mehmood Shaheed
Thal, Mari Shah Sakhira, Muzafar Garh,
Dullewala, Kundiyan, Sarauy Muhajir, Rang
pur, nor pur thal. Educational services as low
as one can think. There are 10 thousands
population in villages and the condition of
education for female is worse
