  1. 1. WORDPRESS <ul>Introduction: <li>WordPress is an Open Source project, which means there are hundreds of people all over the world working on it.
  2. 2. It is full content management system and more then thousands of plugins, widgets, and themes are available. </li></ul>
  3. 3. Installation <ul><li>Download and unzip the WordPress 2.8.6.tar.gz package from http://wordpress.org/download
  4. 4. Unzip the wordpress using:
  5. 5. tar -xzvf wordpress2.8.6.tar.gz
  6. 6. Create the database for wordpress.
  7. 7. Rename the wp-config-sample.php file to wp-config.php. </li></ul>

  9. 9. Run the WordPress installation script by accessing wp-admin/install.php in our favorite web browser. </li></ul>
  10. 10. Plug-in <ul>Plugins are tools to extend the functionality of WordPress. Installation: <li>Easy ways of adding Plugins to our blog. From the Administration Panels, click on the Plugin tab.
  11. 11. Once you have uploaded a plugin to our WordPress plugin directory

  13. 13. Widgets <ul><li>WordPress Widgets (WPW) is like a plugin, but designed to provide a simple way to arrange the various elements of our sidebar content (known as &quot;widgets&quot;) without having to change any code. </li></ul>
