2. What is Fashion Photography?
Fashion photography covers the fashion world
and all the changes that take place in it. The style
of each famous photographer is unique and can’t
be mixed up with anyone’s else style. Fashion
photography can portray many ideas about society
and how it can be changed by a single persons
actions. Fashion photography is used mainly for
reasons such as promoting and advertising. For
example, magazines such as Vogue use fashion
photography in order to advertise their magazine.

3. Mario Testino
Mario Testino is one of the worlds most influential
photographers. His work has been featured across
the globe in magazines such as vogue and vanity
fair, and he has contributed to the success of many
fashion and beauty houses through advertising
campaigns.
Born:October 30, 1954 (age 58)
4. Mario Testino’s Work
This photograph taken by Mario Testino shows a man trying
to express the same expression as the dog by the side of him.
This photograph has an interesting effect as it almost portrays
the saying of ‘mans best friend’. Thee fact that they have
been placed against a light coloured background, makes them
stand out significantly more dur to the dark coloured fur of
the dog and the dark suit which the man be seen to be
wearing in the photograph.
This photograph taken by Mario Testino is a typical fashion themed
photograph. The model can be seen to be posing for the camera as
her hand is placed gently over her face. The colours in this
photograph contradict with one another, for example the bright red
colour which is on her nails contradicts with the pale colour of the
models skin. The fact that this photograph has been taken against a
plain white background makes her
stand out significantly more as her
hair stands out against the white
background.
5. Peter Coulson
“I specialize in beauty, fashion
and fetish Photography. Mixing a
range of styles and fusing the
latest fashion trends with my
personal conceptual reflections.
My images are strong, sensual
and mysteriously elegant with a
twist of my screwed up sense of
humor.” – Peter Coulson
6. Peter Coulson’s Work
This photograph taken by Peter Coulson
shows two women controlling a man via
strings. This almost gives the impression
that the man is being used as a puppet
within this image. The fact that the women
are wearing high heels almost indicates that
they are of authority and have total control
over the man. This is also supported by the
fact that they are pulling the strings which
control the mans body actions.
This photograph taken by Peter Coulson
shows a woman looking as though she is
falling off a chair. However, this looks as
though it has been done intentionally as
her body language suggests that she is
posing for the image in a peculiar way.
The colour scheme in this photograph is
very cool and natural which makes the
model stand out due to the darker colours
of her chair and skin tone.

8. Maria Lankina’s Work
This photograph taken by Maria Lankina shows a woman posing
with a cigarette in her mouth. This has an interesting effect on the
photograph as people often associate smoking with fashion and
looking good in front of society. The hair of the model offers a frame
to the image as it frames her face and ends at the edge of the image.
This photograph taken by Maria Lankina shows a woman staring
straight into the lens of the camera. However, this image has a
completely different effect to the previous photograph as it is
significantly over exposed to the point where you cannot tell what is
on the bottom half of the image. There are a contrast of tones in the
image as the models face is very white
whereas the bottom half of the image
Is completely blacked out, and this
contrasts with the white tones on the models
face.
