Radhames Canigiani was an Italian opera singer who was most famous for his performances of the title role in Verdi's Aida. He had a powerful and flexible bass-baritone voice that allowed him to excel in both heroic and villainous roles. Canigiani had a long and successful career at La Scala in Milan and other major European opera houses from the 1890s through the early 1920s.
