All employees want to have a more preferable work-life
balance. How do we do a better job of managing the
stresses of the work place and limiting their spillage into
our employee’s personal lives? How can we enhance the
lives of our employees as they relate to the Four
Seasons Miami?
3. The Solution:
It is easy to increase the balance in the favor of “Life”.
Just WORK less hours! Unfortunately, in Hospitality,
working less is not always an option.
Therefore, we propose that the Four Seasons Miami
takes on a “Live More” mentality.
We have created a 3-prong approach to increasing
“LIFE” in the Workplace.
4. Daily Life Enhancing/Motivating
Activities
3 Minute Stretching in Morning/Afternoon Meetings
Stretching is a great way to increase energy and relieve
stress.
Vary the stretches on a daily basis.
This will also promote a healthy workplace.
3 Minute Meditation in Morning/Afternoon Meetings
Clamming music can be played
Also employees to take a “step back” before the attack
their workload
5. Inspiration of the Day in
Morning/Afternoon Meetings
The hotel provides a list of 365 motivational quotes from
influential people from history (businesspersons, artists,
presidents, leaders, etc.) to each department.
Briefly, discuss 2 questions with your team:
What does this quote mean?
How can I apply this to the guest experience and my work
today?
Example: “The best and most beautiful things in the world
cannot be seen or even touched- they must be felt with the
heart.” –Helen Keller
This means that the success of our daily
interactions with people hinge on how we make
them feel.
When I encounter a guest today, I am going to
make sure that I make them feel that I care.
6. Monthly Life Enhancing Activities
Exercise class Sponsored by Sports Club LA
Examples of this class could be yoga, cycling, group
jogging, dance, etc.
All employees are invited on a complementary basis.
This could take place in the Ballroom, at Sports Club
LA, or at a public location.
7. Yearly Summer Family Picnic
Day
Family friendly event held during the day at a
public/private park in the area.
Employees would be invited to bring their immediate
family/relatives at little to no cost to them.
Hotel would provide a day full of music, games, food,
sports, prizes/raffles, activities for the kids as a way of
showing appreciation.
No alcohol at this is family event.
This can be done in a cost effective way and planned
around our operational needs.
