7. I feel that if you use it in any sport that requires you to physically play a sport or
competitively lift, taking steroids would be cheating. Although I consider taking
any performance enhancing drugs cheating, I can see how some sports use
steroids to enhance their bodies for shows, such as bodybuilders.
In 2005, the CDC reported that 672,000 high school athletes have admitted to
using steroids. Which honestly doesn’t surprise me because steroid use at my
high school was not uncommon.
When professional athletes are suspended for steroid use, it sends mixed signals
to younger athletes that steroid use is “okay”.
Because performance enhancing supplements and steroids are so easily
attainable through the internet, anyone can purchase them and use them
incorrectly, which is a major health concern.
Taking steroids can make the body stronger, but how long can the body handle
the amount of stress before physical and mental injury occur is the real question.
There needs to be more done with testing high school athletes and college level
athletes in order to reduce the use of steroids or performance enhancing drugs.
