Editor's Notes
Web 2.0 is called “social Web”, Boulos, M.N.K. and Wheeler, S. (2007) said, Web 2.0 is different from Web 1.0, Web 2.0 give users more freedom on the Internet, using web is more democratic. Web 2.0 is used in many ways, such as blogs, Wikis, social software and so on. Web 2.0 brings more convenient ways of getting information.
In current society, social media is used widely, through the data of Statista, from 2010 to 2016, more and more users use it and data trend shows until 2021, the number will be keep increasing. In 2017, the number of users is 2.46 billion.
Welfare and charity becomes a hot topic during the last few years, Lantos, G.P. (2001) analyzed the content of corporate social responsibility, mentioned more and more people pay attention to charity and it gradually becomes one of the social responsibilities.
There are two ways of media, one is traditional media, the other is new media. Through the table, the traditional media is more single, users can only receive information unilaterally, such as television, the audience by watching TV programs to understand information. And social media is more interactive, users can communicate in every second, such as blogs, tweets, information is short and quickly spread. Compared with traditional media, social media is more flexible and can be shared at any time, which means that social media has a wider range of influence
With the diversified development of society, more and more kinds of charitable activities are appeared, according to Top Nonprofits. (2017), charity can be roughly divided into 6 categories. A great variety means people can have different choices. Different enterprises and different individuals can do charity activities according to their own conditions. Although philanthropy continues to develop, problems still exist and the organization is not perfect, In the development of charity, society should also consider the actual factors.
Social media has many characteristics, these characteristics are very suitable for charity, and promote charity activities to be finished, which can form the greater social influence.
