This document provides floor plans and details for filming a music video in a hotel room. It notes that the room will need a double bed with lamps on either side to set a romantic mood. An overhead view shows the camera placement and need for freedom of movement despite the small space. Neutral colors will dress the room to focus attention on the actors, and a balcony overlooking the sea is a key location, though the floor plan software could only represent it with a window. Keeping locations simple will allow viewers to appreciate subtle details.

1. This is a verybasic layoutof the hotel roomin which
I’ll be using for my music video and where most of
the key scenes will take place. Itis key that I have a
doublebed and a lamp either side of the bed. These
lights are crucial for setting the mood of the music
video and helping to portray a somewhat romantic
feel to the audience.
This is an Ariel view of the hotel roomto give a better
idea of where the camera will be when filming the
most crucial shot and most reoccurring shot. The
roomwill be somewhatspacious to allow freedom of
movement. One problem I will need to be prepared
for is a lack of space. However, due to the smaller
space less lighting will be required to light the room.
I plan on dressingthe roomitself in neutral coloursto
allow my actors to be the main focus and have
nothing taking awaythe attention. This willalso allow
for a more balanced black and white look when in
editing later on in post-production.
The software I used to create my 3D floorplans
wouldn’t allow me to add a balcony however the
window on the right hand wall is my closest
representation of one. The balcony will overlook the
sea and will be a key location for my music video.
Whilst I do not have many locations going in to my
music video I hopethe simplicity will allow viewersto
appreciate the subtle details.
