Vincent's letter to James about upcoming visit to London
1. August van de Wielelei 370
2100 Deurne, Antwerpen
Belgium
Dear James,
My name is Vincent, and I will come to London on 11th July. I am 15 years old just like you. I visited London last year, but we have been there for only 3 days, so we couldn’t see all of its monuments, and tourist spots. We saw Madame Tussauds, London Dungeon, Buckingham Palace and Trafalgar Square.
There is not much to show in Antwerp. We do have some nice little things to see, but you have to know where they are. Why don’t you come to Antwerp next year and stay with us? I will show you all those spots and I will let you taste the Belgian beer called “Jupiler”.
When I am in London I would like to do some things with you, like going to a football match. Sometimes I watch English football on the television, and I think English football is much better than Belgian football.
At school I have been studying sciences for 2 years now. I like chemics, maths and physics a lot. The only disadvantage about our school is that it is very strict. If you are too late in class, you have to go to what we call “the prefect” and if you’re unlucky, you will be punished.
I’m so excited to come to you and to know what’s life like in London. I hope we will do many things together.
See you in July!!
Vincent
5th January 2010
