Security plays a key role in disaster and humanitarian responses by protecting response teams and enabling effective relief operations. Security personnel work to evacuate victims to safe areas and enhance communication during responses. They also focus on raising awareness of safety issues before, during, and after disasters. However, security concerns like violence, theft and transportation accidents can limit response and recovery efforts by restricting the movement of aid workers and preventing immediate assistance from reaching victims. To address this, increased protection of aid workers and understanding of local environments are needed.
