experiences that one may face before entering a doctoral program, the autonomous nature
of doctoral learning, conduct a literature review of scholarly articles related to strategies for
success in doctoral programs, and recommend specific strategies for successful completion
of a doctoral program.1. Discuss learning experiences one may face prior to the doctoral
learning experience. Support your discussion with scholarly evidence.Before entering a
doctoral learning experience, individuals may face several learning experiences that
prepare them for advanced coursework. According to a study by Townsend et al. (2016),
these learning experiences include undergraduate education, experience with research and
scholarly writing, and work experience. Undergraduate education exposes students to
foundational knowledge, critical thinking skills, and research methodologies that are
required in advanced coursework. Furthermore, experience with research and scholarly
writing prepares students for the rigorous requirements of doctoral coursework, while
work experience provides practical knowledge and skills that aid in doctoral research and
problem-solving.2. Research the autonomous nature of doctoral learning. Discuss how
doctoral programs and learning skills and strategies employed when completing them are
different from other learning experiences.Doctoral learning is an autonomous process, as it
requires students to be self-directed and responsible for their learning (Glatthorn & Joyner,
2015). The autonomy of doctoral learning is a key difference between doctoral programs
and other learning experiences. In a traditional classroom setting, students often rely on the
instructor for guidance and feedback. However, in doctoral programs, students are
responsible for their own learning and must be independent and motivated learners.
Furthermore, the learning skills and strategies employed in doctoral programs, such as time
management, critical thinking, and problem-solving, must be effective and efficient. These
skills are crucial in doctoral research, as they enable students to manage their time
effectively, conduct research, and analyze data.3. Conduct a literature review of five
scholarly articles related to strategies for success in doctoral programs.According to a
literature review conducted by Zaitoun and Abdulhameed (2018), strategies for success in
doctoral programs include time management, effective communication, mentorship and
networking, self-care, and goal-setting. Another study by Wenger and McDermott (2019)
identified intrinsic motivation, goal-oriented behavior, self-regulation, and a strong support
system as key strategies for success in doctoral programs. In addition, a study by
Tagliagambe and Alvino (2016) suggests that a feedback system, a supportive environment,
and a collaborative culture are essential for success in doctoral programs. Furthermore, a
study by Jaschik (2015) suggests that students who are able to balance work, family, and
other commitments alongside their doctoral studies are more likely to complete their
programs successfully.4. Based upon your research, discuss specific strategies you
recommend when developing a plan for successful completion of a doctoral program.Based
on the literature reviewed, several strategies can aid in the successful completion of a
doctoral program. Firstly, students must manage their time effectively and prioritize their
tasks. This includes breaking down larger tasks into smaller ones and creating a schedule
that allows for regular progress. Effective communication with advisors, peers, and
colleagues is also important, as it can provide support and feedback. Students should also
seek out mentorship and networking opportunities, which can provide guidance and
support throughout their doctoral program. Moreover, self-care is important, including
taking breaks, staying active, and maintaining a work-life balance. Finally, setting clear goals
and developing a plan for achieving them is necessary for success in doctoral programs.In
conclusion, completing a doctoral program requires a high level of autonomy and self-
sufficiency. Students must be prepared for this autonomous learning experience and
employ effective strategies to succeed in doctoral coursework. By prioritizing time
management, effective communication, mentorship and networking, self-care, and goal-
setting, students can develop a plan for successful completion of a doctoral
