You will write your first paper in three parts as a narrative (not
outline) in which you discuss your business and the country you
would like it to enter. Do not select a real company (such as
Nike), and be sure to do some preliminary research on various
countries and businesses before you make your decision. Your
paper should be six to twelve pages, but you will not be
penalized if your paper is a few pages longer. You will be
penalized 11% if shorter than 6 pages. You must use the
headings below for your headings and if not you will penalized
5pts.
Part 1 Introduction
A clear statement of purpose is provided; the introduction
includes a comprehensive summary of what will be explored
and discussed.

conclusions. Research is the key. General comments will not
work.

conclusions. Research is the key. General comments will not
work.
Part 3 above is the most important part of your paper is the
analysis of the advantages/disadvantages of how each country
variable's issues might affect the success of your business.
Be specific about how each country variable relates to your
business, and discuss the relevance of all the information in
your paper to the startup of your business in the country you
chose.
Do not include any information in the paper unless you include
an explanation of its relevance to your business.
For example, proving me with the country's history without
indicating its relevance to your business is merely providing
filler for the paper.
Do not include a conclusion in this paper.
To help in the grading process, you must use the country
variables as headings.
Use at least eight sources (other than the the text) to support
your discussion and analysis.
Remember that, although the minimum length of an acceptable
paper is 6 pages, past experience indicates that one cannot do an
adequate job of covering all of the required discussion in so few
pages.
Read and follow the grading rubric below for paper 1, below, to
ensure that you meet all criteria
be typed and double-spaced in 12-point Times New Roman font,
with margins no wider than one inch
be paginated, and have no headers or footers other than page
numbers
be prepared in a word processing program (you may submit
assignments only in Microsoft Word or Rich Text Format; you
may not submit them in PDF or DOCM format)
contain a cover page with your name, the course name and
number, and the title of your project
Do
not
include pictures, graphs, or lists in the body of the paper; if
you need these to support your facts, place them at the end of
your paper as an addendum, referenced in the body of your
paper; they will not count toward the length of your paper
be written in narrative form, not outline (no bullets at all)
Footnotes of facts in the body of the paper are mandatory. Only
author name and page number in body of paper for example
(Smith, pg. 44). Full footnotes will be at end of paper not at the
end of each page.
Bibliography is mandatory and will include all sources used,
which should include, for each entry, the author, title, city and
state of publisher, publisher’s name, year, and page
number. You may NOT cite Wikipedia or any Wiki… as a
source in the papers.
Paper may be reformatted if not in compliance with formatting
rules discussed above to determine true length of paper.
The grading rubric for this assignment appears below or can be
opened by clicking on the
Country Plan Part 1 Rubric
tab in the lower right corner of the screen.
